Faculty development programmes (FDPs) boosts medical teachers’ to cultivate their knowledge and skills in desired areas such as pedagogy, research, motivation, and administration. MEU focuses on establishing systematic faculty development program. The team helps the faculties to accomplish the role as knowledgeable and effective educators, administrators, researchers, mentors, and support clinicians to gain capability in behavioural and communication skill.
Goal:
To establish a standardized and structured approach of faculty development program (FDP) to improve the quality of medical training in educational principles and practices.
Objectives:
Training of faculty members of Medical Education Unit (MEU) and Curriculum committee (CC) at nodal centre.
Faculty development by holding Seminars/Workshops/Conferences.
Curriculum development as per latest NMC guideline.
Sensitizing teachers about concepts of modern educational technologies for teaching and assessment methods.
Encourage & train clinicians to acquire competency in communication and behavioural skills.
Promote the quality research in medical education by modern information and research methodology tools.

Objectives:
MEU coordiantor should continue for three years.
All Curriculum committee members should have undergone MC/NMC Revised Basic Course Workshop in MET or Basic Course inMedical Education at the allocated Nodal Centre / regional Centre.
Should possess additional qualification of ACME/ FAIMER/MHPE/ Dip in MEd Ed. etc as specified.
At least 50% (minimum 4) should have received additional educational qualification.
