APPSC Group 1 Main Exam Dates Announced: Check Complete Schedule Here

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has officially released the Group 1 Mains Examination 2025 schedule under Notification No. 12/2023. These descriptive-format exams are set to take place from May 3, 2025, to May 9, 2025, across various centers in Andhra Pradesh.

This year’s significant update is the introduction of digital question papers displayed on tablets, while candidates will write their answers using traditional pen-and-paper methods.

APPSC Group 1 Mains Exam Schedule

The APPSC Group 1 Mains exam consists of six papers, including two qualifying language papers and four merit-based General Studies papers.

All exams will be held in the morning session from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Key Highlights of the Exam Format

  • The Telugu and English papers are qualifying in nature; their scores will not affect the final merit ranking. However, passing these papers is mandatory.
  • The remaining four General Studies papers are merit-based and will determine candidates’ rankings in the final selection process.
  • Question papers will be displayed digitally on tablets provided at the exam centers—a first-of-its-kind initiative by APPSC aimed at modernizing the examination process.

Eligibility for APPSC Group 1 Mains Examination

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have cleared the Prelims stage of the APPSC Group 1 exam and possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 42 years (Relaxations apply for reserved categories as per government norms).

Other Requirements

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens.
  • Physical fitness may be required for certain posts under Group 1 services.

How to Prepare for APPSC Group 1 Mains?

The APPSC Group 1 Mains is a descriptive examination that requires thorough preparation across various subjects. Here are some tips to help you ace the exam:

  • Understand the Syllabus: Focus on topics like history and culture of Andhra Pradesh, governance policies, economic development strategies, environmental issues, and current affairs.
  • Practice Descriptive Writing: Since this is a descriptive exam format, practice writing essays and long-form answers within time constraints.

Important Instructions for Candidates
