The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially clarified that the APAAR ID is not mandatory for registering for the NEET UG 2025 examination. This announcement, made on January 24, 2025, has brought relief to many aspirants who were concerned about integrating the APAAR ID into their application process.
While candidates are encouraged to update their Aadhaar credentials and link their APAAR ID for added benefits, it is not a compulsory requirement for this year’s registration.
What is APAAR ID?
The Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID, formerly known as the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC ID), is a digital repository designed to store a student’s academic credits and achievements.
It offers a comprehensive record of an individual’s academic journey. Despite its advantages in streamlining processes and ensuring accurate record-keeping, the NTA has confirmed that candidates can proceed with their NEET UG 2025 registration without it.
